APRIL MEETING HIGHLIGHTS
KIND KIDS MEET A SPECIAL DOG
At the April meeting of the Kind Kids Club, the kids got to meet a very special dog and his two canine friends. Samson, or "Sammy" as he likes to be called, suffered from a virus when he was very young and was crippled as a result. Fortunately his guardian, Rosemary, took her commitment to Sammy very seriously and never for a single second considered any option other than providing Sammy with the best life possible.
Sammy has a special wheelchair that allows him to get around very well and it is clear that he is enjoying his life even though he is physically challenged. His two canine buddies stay close and watch over him to make sure he is OK. Rosemary made the very important point to the kids that special needs animals make wonderful companions. Actually, it was Sammy who clearly made the point. He won everyone over with his cheerful, happy, loving ways.

Sammy gave lots of doggie kisses away and everyone went home with a better understanding of the value of life, whether it be "perfect" or not
After Sammy’s visit, the kids worked hard stuffing dozens of beds for the Cage Comforter Program. This program provides small beds for the animals in New York City’s municipal shelter system.
