CAT SPONSORS POSTER CONTEST
IN NYCHA COMMUNITY CENTERS FOR
"BE KIND TO ANIMALS WEEK"
More than 100 children in six community centers located throughout the five boroughs participated in a "Be Kind to Animals" poster contest sponsored by the Compassionate Action Team. The kids were treated to a viewing of the nationally-acclaimed video "Share the World" which teaches respect and compassion for animals. First prize was a $50 U.S. Savings Bond. Second Place received a copy of the book Saving Ellie and Third Place received the book Whose Coat. Honorable Mentions received Compassionate Action pens. Every participant received a certificate of appreciation. Each participant also received a copy of KINDNews as well as an activity book on dog bite prevention which was donated by the Center for Animal Care and Control.
