***KEEP TRACK OF HOW YOUVE HELPED***
Youll be amazed at how much you can help
animals. Keep an animal notebook. Write down your ideas and feelings on
animals. When you go to sleep at night, think about your whole day and remember how
the things you did had a connection with animals, whether through food or clothing, or
with your dog, cat or hamster, or with wildlife. Before you go to sleep, think about
whether you helped animals that day. If you want to help animals even more, you can
decide to do something new for animals in the morning.
No one likes to be told what to do, but most
people like to live by their principles and beliefs. You can help animals by helping
your friends figure out their beliefs too. In fact, why not tell five friends about
what youve learned about helping animals. You can ask them to tell five
friends too. Spreading the word will help animals a lot. And dont forget
to share your thoughts and feelings with your parents.
If you see animals who need help, help them.
And remember, humans are animals too!
Try not to contribute to animal suffering.
Thats hard because animals suffer so much for so many things, and its
not always easy to stop doing things that hurt animals. You can try really hard
though.
If you want to learn even more about helping
animals, there are two really good books about it see if they are in your library:
So,
You Love Animals by Zoe Weil and Kids Can Save the Animals! by Ingrid Newkirk. Many
of the suggestions on this website were taken from these books, but they are discussed in
much greater detail and there are many more suggestions for you to think about.
There are also all kinds of projects for you to do.
You have taken a big
step in reading all these ideas and trying to learn about what you can do to help animals.
The animals really need your help. There is a lot of cruelty in the world,
but much of it is done because people dont know better or dont stop to think
about how their actions hurt animals. You can help change all that.
