KID HEROES

Lizzi
Collin is 10 years old and she lives in Bismarck, North Dakota. Lizzi has always
loved animals all kinds of animals and she wants to be a veterinarian
someday.
Lizzi is very busy with school,
homework, guitar lessons, and girl scouts, but she still makes time to help animals.
She has helped all kinds of animals from stray cats to injured baby birds.
She also spends time thinking up new ways to help animals and has invented a special
cushion that will make animals with aches and pains more comfortable. This cushion
was a really great invention and it was featured at a show at the Bismarck Civic
Center. The event was a special show for young inventors. Lizzi received a lot
of attention for her invention at the show, which was sponsored by U.S. Senator Kent
Conrad of North Dakota. Hers was one of the inventions featured on a nightly news
report on the local CBS television station.
Lizzi doesnt just like cute and
cuddly animals. She loves bugs! She has always appreciated how interesting
bugs are. She knows that each one has a special part to play in the environment and
she respects that. She also knows that all animals, even the
"creepy-crawly" ones have the right to live their lives in peace and she
respects that too.
Lizzi lives with her Mom and Dad, twin
sister Sonja and little sister Karen. She also shares her home with two rescued barn
cats Tiger and Tabby.
