Gentlemen:
I am writing to express my concern that Unilever continues to test its products on animals despite the fact that these tests are not required by law. As you know, many companies have recognized that these cruel tests are unnecessary and have declared a moratorium on animal testing.
Until such time as Unilever joins the ranks of those companies who share the concerns of their consumers and recognize that these tests cause undue pain and suffering to innocent and defenseless animals, I will not purchase any products made by your company. I will also do all in my power to educate my friends, family, co-workers and fellow-shoppers that Lever Brothers performs these tests and hopefully they will also take their business elsewhere. As you know, there is not a single Unilever product that cannot be replaced by a cruelty-free equivalent.
I hope you will reconsider your position on this issue. Many consumers feel strongly about this and your business will be affected.
